Okay okay…so BET decided to do it’s 9th annual awards show last night….In my opinion….complete UTTER FOOLISHNESS!!! There was alot of cursing, confusion, and just complete disarray last night. Now don’t get me wrong, it had it’s moments (Maxwell, The O’Jays, Ne-Yo, Miss Keri Baby) but they were few and far between. This is just the MS.CHRISS rundown of the Awards show….so keep reading and LET THE SHOW FOOLISHNESS BEGIN…….

THE HOSTESS WITH THE LEASTEST
Jamie Foxx- Okay this was the host as we all know from last night….is it me or was he a little “EXTRA” with his hosting? Second of all, he only “HOSTED” for maybe the 1st 10 minutes then he went to “THE ARTIST/PERFORMER FORMERLY KNOWN AS HOST” He hit the stage every other act thereafter. I don’t really recall nominations being read or any of the “Traditional” hosting antics. Not to mention that his rendention of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It” as the opening act…..my opinion on Jamie Foxx…..BEAT IT!!!
I'VE BEEN POISONED!!!!
Now say what you wanna say but my boyz BBD rocked it last night for me! These dudes looked as if they still had it! (Stamina that is) I was up out of my chair, doin the wop and the New Jack Swing! I truly enjoyed this portion of the show, not much to say about them except…”CAN’T GET IT OUTTA MY HEAD….MISS HER..KISS HER….LOVE HER….THAT GIRL IS POISON!!”
JODIE MY JODIE!
Okay now I KNOW I’m not the only one that can quote that baby boy movie from start to finish….”JODIE MY JODIE….” It was amazing to see how Taraji and Tyrese have both emerged into successful roles on the Big Screen. IDK-WTH was up with Ving Rhames…he must have smoked some of that “Ooohhweee” that he planted in Jodie’s mom’s backyard…..he was higher than Governor Sanford’s flight to Argentina!! SHEESH!!
DA BABYMAMA ACCEPTANCE SPEECH YAHEARD ME?
Now ya’ll know I wouldn’t be Ms.Chriss if I didn’t give this chick the BIZ-NESS!!! Did GrandHustle not have any QUALIFIED individuals to speak on TI’s behalf and accept this award? I had NO idea Tiny talked worse than Lil Wayne” YAHEARD ME? WTH was this about? And that whole, “You still the King baby……..” Not a good look in my book considering BET claims they were honoring one king last night and that was the KING OF POP….MJ!! This acceptance speech made me “Further know” I will NOT be engaging in the Toya and Tiny BAFOONERY!
DEATH OF AUTOTUNE
Normally I would not be a fan of a 40 year old rapper, however….it’s Jay-Z. Who can do it better? Now I know alot of people are giving him slack b/c of D.O.A. But I feel where he was coming from…..Primary example, Jamie Foxx gets up there on that stage and Autotune’s his performance…WHY? Dude has a nice voice? T-pain KNEW he couldn’t sing no more than I can..so he created the Autotune GENRE of music. I think Hov is th only artist that can perform on stage, no props, alone, and move from side to side, and still be very entertaining….BET GUCCI AND OJ da JUICEman can’t do that!!!

This was a bitter sweet moment for me….just to see Janet….. I was worried about how she was taking things….I know the relationship between my brother (Jiggy Jay) and myself…..GOD bless her and her family…I couldn’t even begin to IMAGINE. Everytime I watch this clip of her, I get teary. This is a woman who is truly grieving….but unable to grieve in peace. This entire family has to grieve in the public eye unfortunately.
THE BEST I'VE EVER SEEN
Soooo from my understanding Drake tore his ACL that’s why he was seated during his performance….I hope he knows Lil’ Wayne royally GHETTOfied his performance…by use of the words “N*gga, D*mn, P*us*y, need I go on? Yeah STRAIGHT ghettofied the performance…It was at THIS point I realized, BET no longer made me proud. We then “FIT the description.” T-pain and his “BIG ASS CHAIN” also assisted us with this…Drake is a very talented young man from Canada. He was able to close (well almost) the BET performance off of a Mixtape single…that’s talent…
SHE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO UKANYE WEST AND AMBER ROSE:These two have been on and off again too much for me. I think 'Ye just needs to realize.....she likes women...Look how close she's standing to Bey!!! Come on....'Ye you're just the rich HOMEBOY to her....but hey I guess the saying is right "IT AIN'T TRICKIN IF YA GOT IT" Mr. Jackson

He made the statement….it was sad that BET waited until now to honor his son……that’s true!! What can you say?!

Aye I said the same thing about Tiny… Tip woulda honored the real King! She acts slow or something. Funniest moment: when dude from da Ojays slipped up! That nigga is too cool…anyways…le gi di paipa like Rich Boi lol!
What can I say about the 2009 BET Awards? First of all, that performance that New Edition did in the beginning was a hot mess. BET should have known better than to ask them to perform 2 days prior to the show. Had they had enough time to practice, I am quite certain that their performance would have been off the wall as Michael would say. LOL! Furthermore, why was Bobby Brown sticking his tongue out like that. Can we say nasty and disgusting and he also needs to go on a diet. Ewww!
I’m still trying to figure out was it the BET Awards or was it the Jamie Fox show. No one needs to allow him to host anything else anymore. It was like he was promoting his album more than anything by performing more than any other artist and accepting all of the awards. Why was he talking about his private parts? Talking about he got an Anaconda. No one wants to hear all that. Have some respect man. Come on!
Keri Hilson talked all that smack about Beyonce and Ciara in her Turnin Me On remix but her performance sucked big time. She was just doing too much for me. So extra. She should have stopped when the song was over. I mean way over. I laughed because they put the camera on Kanye and it his look was like %itch why the hell you f%cked up my song. CLASSIC Moment!
Ne-Yo sang Lady In My Life. He sounded just like Michael Jackson a little bit. That tribute brought a tear down my right eye like Denzel Washington on the movie “Glory”. Big ups to Ne-Yo for a well respected performance.
I love Taraji but she needs to realize that she is of Oscar status and there is a certain way that you need to carry yourself young lady. That whole “Baby Boy” scene could have been Xed out. It was almost like BET was just trying to fill in slots for persons who couldn’t be there.
Seeing Tevin Campbell bring it back was awesome. I knew that he still has it going on due to him being on Broadway and so forth. The tribute to the O Jays was off the hook. Trey Songz has a hell of a lot of growing up to do when it comes to performing on stage though, but the brother can sing. They should have had Ginuwine up there too. If they would have did a rendition of We Cried Together, I would have been floored. That is my song. After the show, I had to download some of their music to my computer. I hope some of the new artist took notes when the O Jays performed because that was real music from back in the day. How else would you have gotten here? Okay…
Beyonce would have did a much better job if she would have just stood there and didn’t say anything.; She sang “Ave Maria” in a leotard. What the hell was she thinking? I know that the Catholic Church is shaking it’s head. She would have had a better performance if she would have performed “Halo” and had pictures of Michael Jackson appearing on a screen in the background. That would have been an awesome tribute. Another artist who tries to promote herself. I will never forget seeing “Christmas In Rockefellar Center” and this chick decides to sing “Ave Maria” when everyone else who performed did a Christmas song. Beyonce, I have one thing to ask of you…STOP BEING SELFISH!
Why did they ask Ciara to sing? She performed Michael Jackson’s song, “Heal The World” in a total different key than what the song was written in. Ciara should have danced off of one of Jackson’s songs. That would have been another good tribute to him because the girl is a great dancer/performer. She should not have sang that night though.
Keyshia Cole sounded much better live this year than any other time that I have heard her sing before. She still was upstaged by Monica. Keyshia needs to know that anytime you do a duet with a “diva” you are going to be upstaged. Monica has been in the game too long and her outfit was flawless. Speaking of outfits, what the hell was Keyshia thinking about in that pink thing she had on. It looked like she went to Citi Trends and just picked out something to wear to the BET Awards. If so, then let me take a moment to give a shout out to Citi Trends on their first commercial. LOL! Another person’s outfit who looked a mess was Keri Hilson’s. I was trying to figure out was she trying to be Wonder Woman or Mystic from X-Men. She needs to be a model with her tall ass and she needs to start wearing flats.
Maxwell’s performance was beautiful. I was speechless when I saw those feathers come down. Welcome back Max!
It really touched my heart to see Janet Jackson serve as the spokesperson for the family. We all know that she doesn’t do BET. That is the reason why she never shows up to the BET Awards even when she is nominated for an award. I know how she feels though because BET has gone from what the hell to what the f%ck. She also looked like she was upset from not only the loss of her brohther, but the coonery that the BET Awards displayed in their tribute to him.
Last, but not least eventhough I hated seeing Jamie Fox perform again, him and Ne-Yo rendition of “I’ll Be There” was beautiful. It left tears in my eyes at the end of the show.
Well that is my recap of how I felt about the BET Awards. Looking forward to seeing others. This is D, signing off.
Nice blog Chrissy. First of all, did Dominic just create his own blog in your blog? I mean dang, she said comment not write a book, LOL!!! Im kidding, Dominic…do you. Anyway, the awards for me was up and down. I enjoyed alot but hated even more. T I, i am so dissapointed in your taste in women. I no longer consider myself as qualified lol. The kids at the end on Drake and Wayne’s performance, WHY???? Do you really want your 11 and 12 yr old daughter dancing to ” I wish I could F**k every girl in the world”? Maxwell – Awesome, Jay Z – killed it, Trey Songs, Tyrese, Johnny Gill – loved it, Mary Mary – best performance of the night in my opinion, Neyo – Great Job. Where was Chris Brown though???? Yall know he was supposed to be there for a MJ Tribute, he would have killed it.
